According to guidelines on vitamin D3 supplementation, once pregnancy is confirmed, supplementation should be continued while monitoring the vitamin D3 level in the body. The optimum level is around 50 ng/mL. If you cannot determine your vitamin D3 level, it is recommended to take 2000 IU a day throughout the whole pregnancy and breastfeeding period.
